Quantitative Finance Example Course Plan (first 3 semesters)

This is an example course plan based on the 2023-2024 University Catalog; your actual schedule may deviate from this example. Your faculty advisor will work with you to select appropriate courses. Course descriptions can be found within the University Catalog As an º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ student, it is your responsibility to track your progress each semester towards completing graduation requirements using the  degree audit tool.

 

Fall Semester

  • ACC 112: Introduction to Financial Accounting
  • MATH 176: Calculus I
  • GW 100: Gateway Colloquium
  • Foreign Language Course*

* Students may place out of part or all of the Foreign Language Course requirement and may not have to complete three courses in this area.

 

Spring Semester

  • ACC 212: Introduction to Managerial Accounting
  • ACC 212L: Introduction to Spreadsheet Applications (.5CU)*
  • ECON 100: Introduction to Economics
  • Foreign Language Course second level**
  • MATH 177: Calculus II

*ACC 212L must be taken concurrently with ACC 212.

** Students may place out of part or all of the Foreign Language Course requirement and may not have to complete three courses in this area.

Fall Semester

  • CS/DASC 125: Introduction to Computer and Data Sciences
  • ECON 227: Statistics for Business and Economics
  • Foreign Language Course***
  • Shared Curriculum Elective

* ECON 227 may be taken in any of the first four semesters, but is normally taken in the sophomore year. If a student has received a unit of credit for AP Statistics (score of 4 or 5), they are not required to take ECON 227.

*** Students may place out of part or all of the Foreign Language Course requirement and may not have to complete three courses in this area.

  • DASC 225: Data Analytics with Visualization
